The Town Road Commission has notified us that they will be cutting all of the trees within 33 feet of the centerline on our untraveled and beautiful old road. These includes the sixty year old towering red pines and many many beautiful maple trees. There are only three neighbors on this road and we're all upset by this.
Some research seems to indicate that we'd need 100 cars a day on this road to justify that, so we'll see if we can prove there are only four to five cars a day down this road. I clearly understand the term 'tree hugger' right now. Makes no sense to me and I can only imagine the dog's and wildlife dismay if /when that loud cutting would start, slam, crash. Not to mention it will look like a bombing on our beautiful road.
